The “Powerade” Load HT Switchgear is reliable, low maintenance and economical for High voltage distribution applications such as main switchgear, load switching center and unit substation.

Cost effective in utility, industrial and commercial applications where switching is infrequent, and the absence of quick reclosing and protective relaying functions eliminate the need for more expensive metal-clad switchgear with draw-out circuit breaker.

 

Construction

The “Powerade” Load HT Switchgear meets front accessible only, or front and rear accessibility. Each independent frame of switchgear is made of bolted sheet steel .Each frame is adequately braced, vented and constructed to properly and safely function under normal operating or short circuit condition.

The frame and panel surfaces are phosphate treated and painted with an oven-baked corrosion resistant epoxy enamel ANSI 61 light grey finish.

 

Design Features

  • Split front door with mechanical interlock to ensure switch position.

  • Additional options include: lighting arrestors, voltage indicators, shunt trips, auxiliary contacts, blown fuse trip indicator.

 

Vacuum circuit-breakers are made up of an insulating monobloc in which three vacuum interrupters are fixed. The monobloc and the operating mechanism are fixed to a frame.

The vacuum interrupters house the contacts and make up the interruption chambers of the circuit-breaker. Vacuum circuit-breakers used a mechanical stored energy operating mechanism will free trip which allows opening and closing operations independent of the operator’s action. The mechanical operating mechanism is of simple concept and use and can be personalized with a wide range of easily and rapidly installed accessories. This simplicity characterized the apparatus for its reliability, duration and limited maintenance.

Vacuum circuit-breakers are used in power distribution for control and protection of cables, overhead lines, transformer and distribution substations, motors, transformers, generators and capacitor banks.

The circuit-breaker vacuum interrupters, which make up the interruption part, are sealed for life pressure systems and are maintenance-free.
